Protection Program
HURDO’s Protection department safeguards vulnerable populations, including women, children, and people with disabilities, from violence and exploitation. It provides case management, psychosocial support, and referrals, while also strengthening community protection mechanisms through training on child welfare and positive parenting.

To provide assistance and support to vulnerable individuals and families, ensuring their well-being and promoting social inclusion. This program addresses various social challenges and empowers individuals to overcome obstacles and lead fulfilling lives.
Department Components :
Emergency Shelter and safe Accommodation:
HURDO provides emergency shelter and safe accommodation to women and their children who are fleeing from domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of abuse. Our shelters offer a secure and supportive environment where women can access housing, food, clothing, and essential supplies, as well as counseling and legal support.
Case management and Psychological Support :
HURDO offers counseling and psychological support services to help women cope with the trauma and emotional impact of gender-based violence and abuse. Our trained counselors provide individual and group counseling sessions, as well as psychoeducation on topics such as self-care, trauma recovery, and healthy coping strategies.
Legal Aid and Advocacy :
HURDO provides legal aid and advocacy services to help women navigate the legal system, obtain protection orders, and access justice and redress for their rights. Our legal team offers legal advice, representation, and assistance with legal proceedings related to domestic violence, divorce, child custody, and other legal matters.
Healthcare and Reproductive Services :
HURDO offers access to healthcare services, including sexual and reproductive health services, medical examinations, and treatment for injuries and illnesses resulting from gender-based violence and Increasing access to essential healthcare services.
Life Skills and Women Empowerment :
HURDO offer life skills and empowerment programs to help women build resilience, self-esteem, and independence. Our programs include vocational training, financial literacy workshops, Capacity building, and entrepreneurship development, as well as leadership and empowerment activities aimed at enhancing women's confidence and agency.
Community Awareness and Prevention:
Raising awareness about the prevalence and impact of violence, exploitation, and abuse in communities through educational campaigns, workshops, and outreach activities. Providing training to community members, service providers, and law enforcement personnel on recognizing signs of abuse, responding to disclosures, and supporting survivors effectively.
