Introduction
As a proud Somali women-led organization, HURDO Somalia stands at the forefront of community transformation. Founded and led by Somali women, we are committed to advancing gender equality, promoting women’s leadership, and protecting vulnerable communities from harm — especially from gender-based violence (GBV).
Empowering Somali Women Through Local Action
In Somalia, women face significant social, economic, and safety challenges. At HURDO, we believe that real change starts from within. Our women-led team works directly with communities, offering training, awareness sessions, and leadership opportunities that uplift and empower women.
We actively engage with women in IDP camps, rural areas, and conflict-affected communities to build confidence, provide protection, and create new pathways for leadership.
Why Somali Women-Led Organizations Matter
Somali women bring local knowledge, resilience, and cultural understanding to humanitarian work. As a Somali women-led NGO, HURDO ensures that programs are context-driven, community-owned, and effective.
HURDO Somalia is more than a nonprofit — we are a growing movement of Somali women leading the way toward dignity, peace, and equality.
